DiGenova Blasts Obama’s Benghazi Coverup

(LPAC)—Well-known Washington, D.C., lawyer Joseph DiGenova, during an interview on WMAL radio yesterday, charged that the CIA lost 400 surface-to-air missiles during the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012 and now, those missiles are in the hands "of very ugly people," and could be used to shoot down a civilian airliner or attack a U.S. embassy. In the 7-minute segment of the interview posted on YouTube, he goes after Obama for illegally revealing the existence of a sealed indictment against a suspect in the Benghazi attack, then goes on to reveal that he and his wife had learned of the missiles as a result of their representation of some of the Benghazi whistle-blowers.

DiGenova said he didn’t know where the CIA had intended to send the missiles, but said that "a lot of people have come forward to share information with us," some of which is verifiable and some not. "This information comes from former intelligence officials who stay in constant contact with people in the special operations and intelligence community, and it is pretty clear that the biggest concern, right now, are 400 missiles which have been diverted in Libya and have gotten into the hands of very ugly people, and they are worried, specifically, according to these sources, about an attempt to shoot down an airliner." DiGenova said he didn’t know exactly where the missiles were during the attack, whether they had been at the annex or not, "but it is clear that the annex was somehow involved in the process of the distribution of those missiles."

As for the cover-up by the Obama Administration of the responsibility for the attack, as well as its own culpability,

DiGenova said the reason was very simple.

"It happened before an election," he said, and at the time of the attack, no U.S. overseas installations were actually prepared for the fact that it was the anniversary of 9/11. "Can you imagine if that had happened on George W. Bush’s watch? If there had been a second attack?" asked DiGenova. "This is why we shut down the 19 embassies, recently. They were afraid there was going to be a missile attack on one of the embassies." (DiGenova says the SAMS can be used against buildings as well as aircraft.) "That’s why they have lied repeatedly about what happened in Benghazi, because they are now responsible for all of the step children of violence that happened as a result of this. This is a very serious matter, and when you compound it with the flippancy of the President of the United States, who talks about a sealed indictment [of a suspect in the attack, which Obama announced during his Aug. 9 press conference, a statement that DiGenova, earlier in the interview, called blatantly illegal] to cover his fanny, to make it look like he’s doing something when in fact he has done nothing, we have reached a level of cynicism personally on the part of this President that is staggering."

Before the end of the segment, the interviewer declared that DiGenova’s allegations would shake up the news cycle, but so far, the establishment news media have largely prevented that from happening. Only a few other news agencies have picked up on the interview, most notably among them Britain’s Daily Mail, followed by the right-wing news outlets newsmax.com and cnsnews.com. But how long can Obama keep the lid on this ever-growing scandal?
