`The Fog of War’ Gets More Dense In Attack On Pakistan

Printable version / Version imprimable

After a full year of NerObama’s "drone warfare" in Pakistan, Saturday’s "inexplicable" NATO/U.S. attack on two Pakistani frontier military bases sets off one more trigger for world war. Under the fog of confusion and competing "explanations," the factors of Pakistan’s nuclear weapons arsenal, and its close relations with China, are involved.

As part of a U.S. JSOC operation into Pakistan’s border area under NATO auspices, drones, helicopters, and fighter-bombers simultaneously attacked two Pakistani resupply bases whose GPS coordinates had been given to NATO forces. Subsequently, the incident is being escalated, by claims circulated by NATO "Western officials in Kabul," that Pakistanis, or insurgents close to their bases, fired first on JSOC forces. The absurdity of this as a "justification" is obvious, even if true; leaving open the question of why the two-hour long, all-out attack was carried out. NerObama has not expressed any condolences or made any statement. Both Secretary of State Clinton and Defense Secretary Panetta have expressed condolences for the Pakistani soldiers killed; but neither Panetta nor the Pentagon has expressed "regret" that the attack occurred.

China and Pakistan had just completed fairly large joint "anti-terrorist" military maneuvers on Friday, in the same area in which the attacks took place. The maneuvers were practice for fighting Chinese Uighur separatists using the Pakistani tribal areas as bases. This is a reminder that China and Pakistan are strategically and economically allied.

Xinhua reports that an emergency meeting of Pakistan’s top civilian and military leadership, the Defence Committee of the Cabinet (DCC), chaired by Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, on Saturday asked the United States to vacate Shamsi Air Base (its drone base) in southwestern Balochistan province in 15 days, and also decided to close with immediate effect NATO’s and the ISAF’s logistics supply lines.

Rallies were being held across Pakistan by Presidential candidate (and British asset) Imran Khan on Saturday evening and Sunday, demanding an end to all cooperation with U.S. The rise of Imran Khan, a Pushtun and therefore, preferred by the military because of Islamabad’s problems in Pushtun areas, is a British imperial victory. It is certainly no victory for any sane U.S. President’s forces.

But under the insane British puppet Barack Obama (escalating the drone-war policy of the Cheney-controlled idiot "W" Bush), U.S. forces repeatedly make such attacks on Pakistani forces just — as EIR sources put it — "to hit them over the head and remind them who is taking over"; or as Lyndon LaRouche characterized it today, as crazy psychological warfare. Saturday’s "hit on the head" was a huge escalation.

Now fears are publicly emerging among the Pakistani military’s top echelon and allied politicians in Imran Khan’s anti-American ferment, that President Zardari may hand over the keys of Pakistan’s nuclear installations to the Americans — who, in one way or another, will "take them out." JSOC secret agents have been on the hunt in Pakistan for the exact location of these installations, while the Pakistani military has tried to hide them and set up dummies, etc. China is acutely aware of this situation and, in one northern area of Pakistan, keeps watch on the nuclear installations at the Pakistani military’s request.

So another thermonuclear war trigger is involved in NerObama’s crazy policies, and can be removed only by getting him out of office, fast.
