Iran: What Russia’s Warning Means

Printable version / Version imprimable

"There is a real danger of a US military strike on Iran," said Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev today in an interview with " Kommersant " newspaper reported by Agence France-Presse and elsewhere. "This means war, thermonuclear war," said US economist Lyndon LaRouche in response. "The intention of Britain and the British-controlled United States, is to get a thermonuclear war, by launching a thermonuclear attack on Russia and China. That’s what these damn fools are playing with."

"There is a likelihood of escalation of the conflict, and Israel is pushing the Americans towards it," Patrushev said. "That’s true," LaRouche responded, "and we know what that means. It means London."

"They use both economic embargo and massive help to the opposition forces," Patrushev said, adding that "for years we have been hearing that the Iranians are going to create an atomic bomb practically next week, (but) still nobody has proven the existence of a military component of Iran’s nuclear program."

On the Syrian front, Patrushev said that "there is information that NATO members and some Arab states of the Persian Gulf, acting in line with the scenario seen in Libya, intend to turn the current interference with Syrian affairs into a direct military intervention."

"The danger," LaRouche concluded, "is the recklessness of the British control of the United States through its President. That’s the danger to humanity as a whole."
