(LPAC)—On April 16, Belgian police stormed 48 homes in the northern city of Antwerp and detained at least six men for allegedly recruiting volunteers to fight in Syria’s civil war. Authorities revealed that among the six detained individuals was the leader of Sharia4Belgium, Fouad Belkacem. "We have indications that Sharia4Belgium was sending people to Syria to join terrorist groups there," Reuters quoted a spokesperson for Belgium’s federal prosecutors as saying. Sharia4Belgium was recruiting individuals for the foreign-backed fight against the government of President Bashar al-Assad in Syria in order to establish the sharia law in Syria.

Prosecutors said Belkacem was one of the six, but declined to give details on the others, beyond saying one had returned wounded from Syria. Prosecutor Eric Van der Sypt told a news conference that he and his colleagues were investigating whether Sharia4Belgium constituted a terrorist organization, membership of which could lead to a jail term of up to 10 years. "The investigation shows that Sharia4Belgium is part of a broad international jihadist movement," Van der Sypt said.

Turkey, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Israel, the United States, France, England, and also Germany support the armed terrorists in Syria, and thus these administrations violate international law daily and already have Syrian blood on their hands. [RMA]
