(EIRNS)—Britain’s Prince Charles has arrived in Riyadh as part of a four-day (Feb. 17-20) Middle East tour that includes both Qatar and Saudi Arabia. It is his tenth trip to Saudi Arabia since he first toured the nation in 1986. It has been less than a year since Charles last toured both the Saudi kingdom and Qatar. Charles’s visit takes place at a time when Saudi Arabia is directly involved in the promotion of terrorist activities in Syria, Iraq, Central Asia, and Russia. Britain had long been the protector of many Islamist Jihadi groups who are funded by the Saudi Royal household.

Charles was welcomed in Riyadh by Prince Mutaib bin Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, chairman of the National Guard and graduate of Britain’s Royal Sandhurst College, along with Prince Muhammad Bin Nawaf, Saudi ambassador to Britain, and Sir John Jenkins, the UK’s ambassador to the Kingdom. The cover of Charles’s visit to Arabia is the promotion of interfaith dialogue.

"At a time of enormous turmoil and human agony in the Middle East, seen today perhaps most acutely in Syria, the Prince’s advocacy of interfaith understanding and dialogue between communities is needed more than ever," Ambassador Jenkins told the media.

However, the House of Saud’s deep-seated relationship with the British monarchy and their cooperation in the promotion of terrorism to undermine Iran and Russia, in particular, raise questions as to what the present trip is all about.[RMA]
