Intensifying Drumbeats for General War

Printable version / Version imprimable

Conditions for general warfare are growing rapidly, in the wake of the war against Libya, with nations throughout Africa, as well as Syria, being publicly targetted by British Empire puppets. What’s threatened is a chain reaction of conflicts, which can grow directly into military confrontations not only on the African continent, but into conflict of the West against Russia and China, and of trans-Atlantic nations against one another.

The following recent statements exemplify the heating up of the war climate:

* After an Oct. 19 brawl with German Chancellor Angela Merkel over the bailout package for the European banks, French President Nicolas Sarkozy raised the spectre of war: "Our destiny is at stake over these next ten days." "Those who would destroy the euro will have to take responsibility for the resurgence of conflicts on our continent."

* On Oct. 26, in the midst of intense negotiations on the bailout package with other European leaders in Brussels, Merkel told the German parliament: "Nobody should take for granted another 50 years of peace and prosperity in Europe. They are not for granted. That’s why I say: If the euro fails, Europe fails.... We have a historical obligation: To protect by all means Europe’s unification process begun by our forefathers after centuries of hatred and blood spill. None of us can foresee what the consequences would be if we were to fail."

* UN Ambassador Susan Rice has been a consistent voice for "using the U.S. military to achieve our objectives," including the elimination of leaders like President Assad of Syria—as she made clear in her Oct. 24 interview with Rachel Maddow. When challenged by Maddow about how Obama is using drone strikes without any accountability to get rid of "enemies," Rice invoked the "authority" of the September 2001 use of force resolution. Indicating no limit in time or geography, she cited as "progress" the elimination of Osama, al-Awlaki, and "people in places that we don’t often discuss, including some very important cases in Somalia."

What should be obvious is that the intent being expressed by Rice, if carried out, will not simply result in local wars, but will escalate against those primary nations determined to prevent such imperial diktat, such as China and Russia, who vetoed the Libya-like resolution against Syria (enraging Rice), and can see the Neronic Obama as the threat he is.
