EIRNS—A Global Times editorial today reports on CPC Political Bureau member and Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs Wang Yi’s Feb. 14-22 European visit, which is bringing him to France, Italy, Hungary, Russia, and to address the Munich Security Conference (MSC). Although more than 40 countries will be represented at this year’s Munichevent, for the first time no Russian officials have been invited, Chairman Christoph Heusgen announced on Nov. 21, 2022.

The editorial stresses that China has something special to bring to the table: its Global Security Initiative, under which a “security concept that is common, comprehensive, cooperative and sustainable is a fundamental solution to solving”security concerns, including those in Europe.

“If Europe really wants to turn the MSC into an event that promotes peace and solve conflict, then they must pay real attention to the voices of the Chinese delegation and pragmatically conduct dialogue with the Chinese side.”
